VP of Engineering
Chien has over 20 years of experience in the water treating industry. Prior to MI Systems, Chien worked as the Technology Manager for eProcess Technologies, where he was responsible for product management and sales. Prior to that, he was the Engineering Manager for Schlumberger-OneSurface’s produced water product line, where he managed a senior engineering team and served as the technical advisor for all produced water treatment and solids management products. His experience includes working for government wastewater management district, EPC, and private water treatment organizations including Schlumberger, Cameron Process Systems, FLSmidth gMAX Systems, Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., and Harrison County Wastewater and Solid Waste Management District. He has designed and executed many projects ranging from detailed custom-engineered treatment packages to large full-scale water and wastewater treatment plants.
Chien holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tulane University School of Engineering and is a registered professional engineer with the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. He’s also a member of the Produced Water Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He’s also a member of the Produced Water Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
